Web Ministry Training

New Mexico Conference Communications will provide various trainings through the Communications Ministry Training Program.  Among the topics are Web Ministry, and web resourcing for communication.

The Internet continues to be a primary source of information. Having a presence on the world wide web is a must in today’s society. From custom designed websites to free templates and opportunities, there is a way for your church to be on the web.

Find-A-Church through United Methodist Communications www.umcom.org  is a free way to get information about your church on the web. Churches may include a photo, service times, location and information about ministries available at the church.  Someone in your own church can be the one to provide regular updates with this hands-on resource.

The UM Portal through United Methodist Reporter also provides web services and resources for local churches.

Having a web ministry is important, but a church must also consider what the purpose of its web ministry will be, and make sure that the ministry will be maintained and updated regularly with vital information.

United Methodist Communications and the New Mexico Annual Conference will be working together to bring a variety of training opportunities to the churches within our Conference in the near future. This program is a partnership of United Methodist Communications and the Annual Conferences of The United Methodist Church. Together, we will offer a variety of information to local churches in seven areas: Local Church Communications, Web Ministry, Our United Methodist Connection and Promotion of Giving, Rethink Church, Media Spokesperson and Crisis Communications, Welcoming, and Local Church Marketing.

The Conference Communications Office will be working to put together a training team that will be available to conduct trainings throughout the Conference. We will be seeking requests for the various trainings and will work with districts to determine where and when to conduct them.
