Conference Insurance (PACT)
The New Mexico Annual Conference continues its relationship with The United Methodist Property and Casualty Trust (PACT) through its membership in PACT.
Transitional period Conference Program Administrator:
CONFERENCE INSURANCE Update:
The Church Insurance Agency Corporation (CIAC) will be handling and overseeing the insurance of the NMAC, as we transition to a new PACT representative to replace former rep, Rick Carlin.
CIAC is currently the service provider for PACT, so they are familiar with the insurance program of the NMAC and they are able to handle claims, answer questions, and look at billing issues.
Each church in the conference will be receiving a phone call from a representative at CIAC. This representative will be calling to ensure that all of the information in their database is accurate for each church. The expected script of questions you will be asked to verify has already been sent to you, but is provided here if you have misplaced it.
For questions, other issues during this transition, contact John Scheffler, CIAC
The Trustees continue to feel that participation in PACT is in the best interest of the conference and its churches based on the quality and type of insurance provided, the difficulty of obtaining coverage for sexual misconduct and abuse coverage obtained on the 'open market' due to prohibitive costs for adequate liability limiits ($1,000,000), and/or the liability to which the conference could be exposed due to uninsured or underinsured churches if we were not participating in a conference-wide program.
