The Scholarship Assistance Program for Making Disciples was created in order to inspire and enable United Methodists of this Conference to take advantage of  continuing education and training opportunities specifically for Disciple-making. 

• Who can apply?  ..............Clergy, Laity, Leadership Teams....you!
  
• How do you apply? ..........Fill out the Application form . Print it, copy it- make as many as you need. Return it to the Conference Office address on the top of the form.  Please read  the following criteria prior to submitting your request to us.  Confirmation may take up to 2 weeks.
  
• How much money will CTMD consider granting? .......Maximum of $500 per person, or a maximum of $1500 per church, per year;  priority will be given to those requests involving leadership teams of 3 or more people; and a maximum of $3000 per church per year for multiple events involving multiple participants.  
  All monies granted will be based upon availability of funds, and computed on the percentage of CTMD Shared Ministries payout from the applicant church for the previous year.  
  The CTMD will review each request on an individual basis.
  If you are applying for the maximum amount, you should clear your request with your church leadership, so that it is understood that the maximum stipend for your church for the current year will be used if the request is granted. Pastoral signature verification will be required.

• What other criteria must be met? .........You must show relevance to the priority of increasing your capacity   for Making Disciples;   you and your church should each be willing to contribute a portion of the total cost.   
  You will be asked to covenant with the Conference and a CTMD consultant and actively follow through in sharing what you have learned with others.  A report of accountability and contact with an assigned CTMD consultant will be required within 30 days of your training event.  Subsequent help from the CTMD Scholarship program will depend upon serious completion of these follow-through steps. 
  We will consider leadership/disciple-making training events, the hosting of such events, and not rule out alternative kinds of efforts/needs which will further enhance your efforts at making disciples. 
  
•  Did you know??.....Each District Superintendent of the NM Annual Conference has access to $3000 per year in additional CTMD funds, which may be used at the discretion of the D.S. in his/her respective District for disciple-making efforts.  Local churches should inquire of their District offices about the possibility of such additional available funding.   

We should never become complacent in our understanding of who it is we need to reach, and how best to carry the invitation to Christ out into the world of "seekers" today.   Take advantage of this excellent way to learn new and exciting ideas in all areas of discipling!  Allow us to assist you in utilizing what you learn  within your church, within your District, within your Conference.
