Vision 2020

 New Mexico Conference of The United Methodist Church

For the purpose of this document “conference” is defined as the cabinet, teams, boards, committees, ministries and office of the New Mexico Annual Conference.
This document is meant to guide the conference in setting its priorities and
ensuring its accountability.

Our Vision:    Relevant, Passionate, and Life-Changing Christians

Our Mission:   To engage, equip, and empower every local church
                      in its mission to develop dynamic disciples of Jesus Christ
                      for the transformation of the world

Our Core Values:      We value and support ministry that is
                                Christ-centered, outward focused, risk-taking,
                                and effective.

Our Goals:                 

1. Form engaged disciples
2. Develop effective leaders
3. Foster and sustain vital congregations
4. Create new places for new people
5. Share our stories and connect our people
6. Assess and refine conference structures

Our Process:      In order to achieve these goals, the cabinet, teams,
                         boards, committees, ministries, and office of the New
                         Mexico Annual Conference will align their work to these
                         goals by:

1. Setting and refining objectives
2. Designing and implementing strategies
3. Evaluating the effectiveness of the strategies
4. Implementing appropriate changes
5. Reporting ongoing progress to the Annual Conference
   or the Conference Ministries Team as appropriate
