Volunteers in Mission (VIM) is a missionary movement in The United Methodist Church in which people offer their skills and talents for Christian service at home and abroad on short-term assignments at personal expense.  It is rooted in the conviction that all Christians are called to be in mission.   VIM enables individuals, local churches, districts, and conferences to become directly involved in mission by responding to requests for volunteers at specific projects in a wide variety of mission areas.

Mission for the 21st century challenges us to focus on relationships between people for common mission.  God has given us the United Methodist Volunteers movement to lead the way!  It will enable us to build bridges, develop relationships and experience cross-cultural enrichment as we reach out to each other in cooperative ministry.

What if I don't have any special skill or talent?

While some specialists are needed, such as medical personnel, pastors, teachers, carpenters, etc., every person has something to give!    Can you hammer...paint...cook...plant shrubbery...saw wood...serve snacks...? - the list goes on and on.
Each mission project requires a variety of skills and talents.

Want to organize a VIM Trip, and don't know where to start?  Or, would you like to join
a VIM Team that has already scheduled a trip?   The New Mexico Conference VIM Committee
is keeping track of requests like yours!
Contact  Mary White , Bob Day or Rev. Skip Hodges ,   to ask what NM trips are currently available, or
                                check out the listings below....or
Email them if you would like to organize a team  and  include your name,
email address and telephone number as trip organizer, church name, trip destination,
approximate dates of the trip, purpose (construction, medical, VBS, Evangelical, etc).
