Annual Conference 2022 will be held Tuesday, June 14th through Thursday, June 16th in Las Cruces, NM. This will be an in-person gathering. The theme of the Conference is “Fall afresh on me”. Our new Bishop, Robert Schnase will be presiding.

Bishop Schnase’s Welcome Fiesta: On Tuesday at 5:00 pm, we will welcome Bishop Schnase with a fiesta including the fabulous Lydia Patterson Institute Mariachi Band. This is the perfect time to reunite with friends and colleagues and meet our new bishop.
Speakers: Bishop Schnase will be leading several of our worship services. He will also present the “Bishop’s Message”.
Rev. Dr. Scott Sharp & Rev. Dr. Blair Thompson White, both from TMF, will be discussing the Five Adaptive Muscles for the Post-Pandemic Church.
Rev. Blossom Matthews, Asst. Director of Congregational Vitality will be speaking about Fresh Expressions of Church.
The Retiree Luncheon: Wednesday, June 15th at 11:30 pm at the Las Cruces Convention Center. In order to attend, you will need to buy tickets as part of the registration process. Since we were unable to honor in-person retirees in 2020 and 2021, we will be honoring those who retired in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Ordination/Commissioning Service: Wednesday, June 15th at 7:30 pm at St. Paul’s UMC-Las Cruces.
Generosity Cards: This year the Annual Conference Planning Committee is hoping that generosity will “fall afresh” on us in a different way. Each registrant will receive five different “Generosity Cards.” Each of these cards expresses a different expression of generosity. The goal is to give these cards away to someone who captures the sentiment of each card. There will be a description on each card and general instructions provided in your registration. Conference Choir will sing at the opening worship service and at Ordination/Commissioning. They will receive music in advance and will rehearse at 1:00 pm Tuesday and 6:00 pm Wednesday. Contact is Doug Weeks, doug@stpaulslascruces.com.
Childcare: Childcare is available for children 5 and under at St. Paul’s during worship. Childcare will also be provided at University UMC for children 11 and under on Wednesday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm and Thursday, 7:30 am – 12:30 pm. University UMC is a short 5 minute drive from the LCCC.
