St. Paul’s UMC is located in the geographical center of the city of El Paso, four miles from downtown, two miles from Fort Bliss United States Army Post, one mile from an international airport, and the closest church to the WalMart tragedy. Centered near a growing business district and a neighborhood flipping to younger families, St. Paul’s serves the community with their Thrift Store and Dry Goods Closet, Fall Festival and Bazaar, and Market Place. With a strong emphasis on worship and discipleship, St. Paul’s is a loyal and dedicated congregation with strong lay leadership. Offering a multi-church VBS for adults and children, they look to further expand their cooperative ministries with eastside churches of El Paso. St. Paul’s values a pastor who appreciates the southwest and El Paso region, seeks to incorporate the laity in expanded ministry, and has a visionary growth orientation.

A downtown church, St. Paul’s is a central hub for the city of Las Cruces, sponsoring and supporting neighborhood schools, community groups, the Home School Association, and local scouting groups. St. Paul’s UMC understands the importance of service for their neighbors and welcomes all God’s people. Through their involvement in social justice ministries, St. Paul’s faithfully serves the home insecure encampments near the church, the city food banks, and Community of Hope. Community engagement at St. Paul’s includes the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Fall Festival, Empty Bowls, and the Shoebox Ministry. In addition to inspiring traditional worship services on Sundays, the outstanding music program of St. Paul’s also supports musical concerts for nearby schools and New Mexico State University.
