Healthy Church Initiative (HCI)

Tree Only

HCI is not a program.  It is a way for congregations to look at themselves clearly and with the help of coaches & experts, come together to become a renewed, reinvigorated church.  The architect of HCI, Rev. Bob Farr has expressed his desire for the UMC to become “anointed tribe” once again.  HCI can be a part of that anointing.

The HCI Process:

  • Six months of leadership development – Laity & Clergy
  • Church Self-Study Assessment
  • Weekend consultation – Consultation Team offers prescriptions for change
  • Congregational discernment
  • Church conference with D.S. to decide upon a path forward
  • Monthly coaching to implement the prescriptions, if accepted

I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope. When you call me and come and pray to me, I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:11-12 (CEB)
