On June 12th, during the Louisiana UMC Annual Conference, Lydia Patterson Institute (LPI) President, Carla Cardoza shared the upsetting news that the U.S. State Department had paused visa interviews for incoming foreign students, effective immediately which would impact students who expect to attend LPI in the fall. This action will impact nearly half of the school’s population.
The NM Annual Conference is very closely tied with LPI. Several of our members serve on the LPI Board. We’ve spent time with the students, faculty, staff and administrators. We’ve supported this amazing school with our prayers, our gifts and our hearts.
How can you help? Because “time is of the essence”, the first thing to do is call your Congress person and make them aware of what’s happening at LPI. Please go to the Conference website for a phone script and other supporting information. Click Here.
During Annual Conference, we’ll be able to share more information and next steps. Thank you.
