By all accounts, Holy Week was celebrated in meaningful ways throughout the New Mexico Conference. We asked for images from our churches and received a good representation. While there are standard ways that churches celebrate our faith traditions which tie us together, it’s remarkable to note how churches modified their planning to best suit their context and community.
- In Los Alamos, five churches gathered for an ecumenical Easter Sunrise Service.
- In Roswell, Rev’s Tina & Laird Cross opened their ranch to 250 of their neighbors for an egg hunt, time with chickens and horses, and much more.
- At Morning Star in Las Cruces, the theme of Holy Week was “Beauty in Brokenness.” They viewed “Jesus Christ Superstar” together.
- In ABQ, three churches: St Paul’s, St Stephen’s & Asbury continued their collaboration and planned Holy Week services together.
- In El Paso, St. Mark’s joyously celebrated the coming of Easter at sunrise.
- At University in Las Cruces, a giant bunny visited grateful shut-ins.

What a blessing it is to see our Conference family welcoming & serving neighbors and celebrating the resurrection of our Lord.
Thanks to the churches that took the time to share Holy Week images.
