The New Mexico Annual Conference will be held from Thursday, June 11th until Saturday around noon, June 13th at Western Hills UMC-El Paso. The theme of the next three year's of annual conferences is: A Season of Growth: Rooted in Christ-Growing for the World. The specific theme for this year is Pruning for Clarity. (Please read Bishop's Call Letter and view the Call video for more information.)
Our Ordination Preacher will be Bishop Dee Williamston who leads the Louisiana Conference. Bishop Williamston is a spirited, dynamic preacher who you won't want to miss. Our keynote speaker is Rev. David V. Valera, Executive Director of Connectional Ministries of the Pacific Northwest Conference. Rev. Valera is an accomplished storyteller using a variety of media. His talk will be aspirational as well as instructional.
This Annual Conference will have multiple goals. As you may've guessed, storytelling in different ways will be a big piece of our time together. We'll be discussing the missional priorities discerned by the Conference Ministry Team. We'll also be voting on Constitutional Amendments, including the Regionalization legislation. In addition to being present to take part in all the Conference business, worship, connecting and celebration that we do every year, this will be a very important annual conference to attend either as a delegate or as a guest. The details and registration can be found in the right-hand column.
