The New Church Development Team instigates and cultivates the creation of new places for new people to encounter Jesus Christ. This is done through initiating new church starts and fresh expressions of church, creating a culture of risk-taking innovation, and equipping the people of God to engage in apostolic mission.

New Church Development:

1. Supports church planting through discernment, planning, and launching new faith communities that will become self-sustaining.
2. Nurtures cultures of innovation and creativity through which existing congregations and communities connect with and disciple unchurched and dechurched persons.
3. Provides training opportunities for clergy and laity to be equipped and empowered for evangelism, disciple-making, and church planting.
